Continuing Education
Micro Generation Technologies technicians receive continual training, both in-house and via factory/industry-sponsored programs. Our skill enhancement program follows:
- A minimum of one day per month, the entire staff reviews all basic installation techniques for cable installation. We discuss NEC and EIA/TIA updates and current industry trends in the morning and then focus on a specific skill set or technology for the remainder of the day. While this is simply review for many of our technicians, Micro Generation Technologies feels repetition creates better installations.
- All new employees are required to attend the Leviton Category 5 certification training.
- Project management staff receive AT&T or 3M fiber training.
- Project managers and system technologists attend the Cabling the Work Place conference and its training seminars. Each person attends a different three-day session set and then teaches the entire staff during our monthly training day.
- Top project managers and technologists are currently working toward their RCDD certification. We have been using the TDDM manual for several years and have started on the RCDD training track.
- Manufacturers frequently provide us with product installation training and product demonstrations.
